COR Health Named a Top Employer for Caregivers in Maine

We are proud to share that COR Health has once again been recognized as one of Maine’s top home care employers. This honor belongs to the caregivers in Maine who make up our team, along with the nurses and support staff who show up every day for the families we serve. It also reflects something we have believed since we started in 2005. When you take care of the people giving the care, clients feel the difference.

What This Recognition Means for Caregivers in Maine

Home care is personal work. Our team members spend time in clients’ homes, help with daily routines, manage complex medical needs, and often become a trusted part of a family’s week. That kind of work asks a lot, and it only works well when people feel supported, trained, and valued.

Being named one of the state’s top home care employers tells us our team feels that support. It matters to the families who rely on us, too. A steady, well-supported workforce means fewer gaps in care, more familiar faces at the door, and caregivers who truly know a client’s needs and preferences.

Built on a ClientFirst Promise

Our mission is to be our community’s first choice for ClientFirst and QualityFirst healthcare. From adult personal care to pediatric nursing, our team takes a client-centered, strengths-based approach to every plan of care. We ask every team member to provide the kind of care they would expect if they were in our clients’ position.

That promise shapes how we hire and how we work together. Our values include quality, passion, teamwork, equality and diversity, community, and excellence in execution. They guide everyday decisions, from how a field supervisor checks in with a new caregiver to how a nurse talks with a family about a change in care.

How We Support Our Caregivers and Nurses

Recognition like this doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from investing in people over time. Here are a few of the ways we do that.

  • Training that builds careers. We offer hands-on, in-house certification training for both caregivers and nurses, including PSS, CPR, and BHP, along with education workshops for our team.
  • Support for nurses new to home care. Our RN Preceptor Program is designed for nurses with a year or less of home care experience, and it was the first approved program of its kind in Maine.

A Team That Reflects the Communities We Serve

COR Health has more than 200 caregivers who live in and represent Maine communities. We are also well-versed in using interpreting services, so we can meet the language needs of every client we serve. We serve clients across 15 Maine counties, from York and Cumberland to Penobscot and Washington. That reach is only possible because of local caregivers and nurses who know their towns and their neighbors.

Thank You to Our Team

To every caregiver, nurse, coordinator, and supervisor, thank you. You are the reason COR Health is a place where both employees and clients can thrive. We look forward to continuing to serve Mainers across the state in the year ahead.
